Camera work

Camera work 1) Three camera shots -The opening establishing shot clearly shows two characters having some sort of online meeting on their computer. This doesn't only set the scene but also confirms that something important is going on. -The close up on the characters faces successfully communicates the intensity of the scene and the mixture of being serious and humorous. This has the effect of causing the audience to feel tense but to crack a few laughs. -The over-the-shoulder shot shows the two characters who play mother and son on call with the other characters

Blog feedback and Learner response

Blog feedback and Learner response WWW: It’s great that your blog is set up and you have some work posted already. Your fruit bowl shows technical skills in Photoshop and I think you’ve captured the ‘Autumn’ palette really well. We now need to make sure we match that technical skill with ensuring all homework, blog work and analytical tasks are fully completed.    EBI: Unfinished work. Your blog is missing quite a lot of work, including most of the homework I have set so far. You have not posted Denotation and Connotation which was set for homework. You have the same issue for the Mise-en-scene Stranger Things work.

Mise-en-scene - Stranger Things

Mise-en-scene - Stranger Things Costumes:  The four main characters : Will, Mike, Dustin and Lucas wear casual clothing like jeans, t-shirts and flannels. This shows that they don't really care how they look and that they choose comfortability over fashion. The character at the start of the trailer was wearing a lab coat which suggests that he works at the lab introduced at the start. Lighting:  The lighting seen throughout the trailer was mainly dark but there were elements of lights flickering. This portrays that the series is most likely to be a thriller/horror themed show. Actor placement/movement/expression:  The movement the main actors used the most were their bikes. The expression that the character Will used was startled and scared whilst the "monster" was chasing him. Will was also running through the forest whilst he was being chased. After the teenage boys finish playing the game Dungeon & Dragon and make their way home, they slowly split up which l...

Denotation and Connotation

Image
Denotation: There is a child in the picture, some text saying "Dig toilets, Not graves" in white and the water aid logo.  Connotation: The advert uses "Dig toilets, Not graves" to show the fact that they are people dying for consuming dirty water. The connotation of the colour blue not only represents the clean water the civilians are in need of  but also the sadness of the lives people have lost while surviving of unsanitary water. The other colours used in the pictures are quite dull and boring.
